GifMachine allows users to specify a YouTube video URL, the GIF width along with the start and end time of the desired sequence.
When all options filled in, the GifMachine script uses the FFMpeg library to extract the sequence from the entire video and convert it to a GIF file.
This GIF file is then saved locally and the user automatically redirected to a page where the image is shown.
He can then copy the URL and share it with his friends.
GifMachine doesn't clean out created images, so make sure to add a cron job to remove older GIFs from the server.
If you want to tweak to code, go right ahead, GifMachine's source is annotated and very well documented.
